In practice you will discover that Yoga Nidra is beyond a technique, it is a state of consciousness. It is a pristine state where you can rest in an effortless state of being.
Mary Bruce is a senior student of Rod Stryker’s and is Level II ParaYoga® Certified. She is also a 500 hour E-RYT Yoga Alliance teacher, and a Relax and Renew trainer under the mentorship of Judith Lasater. Mary directed the Yoga Teacher Training program at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Arizona from 2004-2008 and is now currently on faculty again teaching in their 300 hour advanced program. She also co-directed the Yoga Teacher Training program at Practice Yoga in New York City in 2009 and currently co-directs the Yoga For Life Master Immersion into The Yoga Tradition Program. Mary is a national and international presenter as well. With a depth of knowledge in the energetics of tantra hatha (part of her ParaYoga® lineage) along with biomechanical principals of alignment, Mary offers students a supreme way to practice. Practicing since 1995 and teaching since 1997, her teaching includes all the elements of a meaningful and balanced practice: attention to detail (alignment), awareness of breath (pranayama), connection with divine source (bhavana), intelligent sequencing (vinyasa krama), as well as, Ayurveda, visualization, meditation, mantra and more. Mary is dedicated to creating sacred space where by practicing these techniques, our essential and best self can unfold and flourish. Mary began her journey in 1995 with a semester of yoga at Scottsdale Community College from Julie Crutchfield, who was so inspiring and ageless that Mary was hooked from day one, minute one. Mary received her first teacher training certification and began teaching in 1997, her enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge continued. Mary found her teacher, Rod Stryker, at a Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park, Colorado in 1998, and has studied with him intensely since then. We come to the practice as we are and let the beauty we are unfold. Mary will always be a student first. Her passion for understanding and knowledge is vast. The more she explores and knows, the more she will be able to share these ancient wisdoms in a new and radiant light.
